Kentucky Fails to Seize the Biggest Names in Online Casino Gambling; Plans to Take the Case to the Supreme Court
Two big names in the online casino industry, Bodog and Full Tilt Poker, were supposed to be seized by the state under the premise that gambling is considered to be illegal in Kentucky.
However, the state law further says that these names are not used as devices for gambling, which is the reason why the state lost the right to seize the names of these two online casinos and 141 other gambling websites with a 2-1 vote.
But according to J. Michael Brown, head of Kentucky Justice and Public Safety Cabinet, they are still planning to appeal this case to a higher court, since there are already two judges who agreed with them, in contrast to two others who disagreed.
Casinos, even online casinos, are considered to be illegal under the Kentucky state law, which is why the Kentucky government seeks to protect its citizens from these illegal casino sites.
