Casino Gambling in Florida Reaches Crossroads as the Senate and the House Sports Different Opinions; Compromise Needed
And we all thought that Kansas is the only state that spoils the fun in casino gambling.
Back in 2007, it can be reminisced that the state of Kansas approved the building of four new casinos, but two years later not one of these casinos has been built.
It seems like the state of Florida is doing the same thing, as it can be remembered that Governor Charlie Crist also signed a casino gambling agreement with the Semniole Indians back in December 2007. However, this agreement never came into fulfillment as it was overturned by the Florida Supreme Court.
Until now, this issue is still under dispute, as the House and the Senate both have different takes on it.
For the Senate, online casino and all types of casino gambling should be resurrected. Games that the Semniole Indians will be allowed to bring back will be baccarat, online blackjack, online roulette, Vegas slot machine, and craps. On the other hand, the House wants to do the exact opposite of the Senate plan, with the exception of the Vegas slot machine.
The only thing left for these two parties to do is to reach a compromise, which has to be done in a week. Indeed, this might be one of the most crucial weeks for the lawmakers of Florida.
